About the treatment
The art of assisted stretching

Thai massage is one of the oldest massage styles still widely practised, and one of our most requested treatments at New Sun Thai Spa in Liwan (Mazaya). Unlike an oil massage, you stay in loose clothing while the therapist works through your body with palms, thumbs, forearms and gentle assisted stretches.
The therapist presses along the lines of the legs, back, arms and shoulders, then moves you into stretches you would struggle to do alone: opening the hips, lengthening the hamstrings, easing the shoulders back and gently twisting the spine. The pressure is firm but never sharp. Because no oil is used, you can go straight back to your day afterwards.

Yes. Thai massage is done in loose, comfortable clothing and no oil is used. Ask us what to wear when you book.
Does Thai massage hurt?
It should feel firm and satisfying, never painful. Tell the therapist straight away if a stretch or pressure point is too strong and they will adjust.
